Red Booters Grab Solo Lead In NCAA Football

San Beda Colllege is lording it over in the early goings of the NCAA football competition over at the Philsports football field in Pasig City. 

Defending seniors champion Red Booters beat Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, 1-0, on Paul Adrian Concepcion’s goal in the 72nd minute to hand San Beda its second win and the solo lead. 

The Red Booters also downed Arellano U, 1-0, on opening day. 

SBC Junior Booters completed a twinkill, following an 11-1 dumping of the EAC Brigariders for their third straight win. The Junior Booters topped the Baby Chiefs, 3-1, and won by default over the Squires in the second match. 

Daniel Berman Garcia led the Taytay-based squad assault with six goals in the 9th, 21st, 35th, 44th, 75th and 79th minute while Lito Santos prevented a shutout win after scoring the lone goal for the Brigadiers in the 20th minute. 

But it was Terrence Duane Quintana who ignited the Junior Booters’ onslaught with an early goal in the first minute. 

Reigning juniors champion CSB-La Salle Greenhills and season host University of Perpetual Help are tied at second place with two wins each.
