NCAA champions San Beda Red Lions will take on new challenger when they kick off their campaign in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Final Four at the Blue Eagle Gym in Ateneo on Monday.

San Beda will take on the Far Eastern University Tamaraws in the second game at 4 p.m.

Prior to the PCCL Final Four, San Beda played with La Salle to a draw in the “Champions for a Cause” charity game on Saturday, which coach Boyet says helped him gauge the team's readiness ahead of tomorrow’s contests.

“It helped us to check kung saan na kami in preparation for the PCCL,” San beda head coach Boyet Fernandez said. “We’re hoping that our practices and this benefit game will really help us.”

San Beda has had only one week rest since winning the NCAA championship.

San Beda will have the services of back-up guard Ryusei Koga, who can suit up for the Red Lions in the PCCL after not playing in the NCAA Final Four.

“Koga has been practicing with us,” said Fernandez. “He’s a part of the team and he’ll always be a part of this team.”

San Beda, together with La Salle, were automatically seeded to the Final Four of PCCL after winning the championship in their respective leagues.
