The San Beda Red Lions thoroughly routed the Southwestern University Cobras, 77-49, in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League Final Four, on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Arena.

Ola Adeogun had a game-high 22 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Kyle Pascual added 14 points on a 7-of-10 shooting clip, while Art Dela Cruz offered 10 points and six boards.

San Beda head coach Boyet Fernandez applauded his team's performance after the game. "We came out really strong today," he said, adding that their loss to the FEU Tamaraws on Monday served as a "wake-up call" for his team.

Fernandez stressed that winning a PCCL championship was a top priority to him and he held it in the same esteem as their NCAA title. "Yung motto nga nila is 'There can only be one,'" he said. "So pag nanalo ka it means you're the number one team in the country, and that's what I've been telling my boys."

Both teams now hold 1-1 cards in the single round-robin series

San Beda dominated the paint early on, and prevented the Cobras from getting comfortable on either end. Ola Adeogun and Art Dela Cruz got good looks inside, while Kyle Pascual displayed his midrange game, as the Red Lions raced to a 23-7 first quarter advantage.

The Cobra's offense unexpectedly began to flow in the second quarter, and they looked more assertive, especially in the lane. Cameroonian center Landry Sanjo scored nine points in the quarter, though the Red Lions were more than happy to trade buckets. SWU was able to end the half on a more hopeful note, going on a 10-4 run to close the half, 37-24.

After the break, SWU sliced the lead to single digits, 37-28, off a baseline floater by Monbert Arong with barely two minutes into the third quarter. Their momentum was cut short though when Sanjo picked up his third personal foul, forcing Fabrice Siewe, who played most of the first quarter, to plug the hole at center. San Beda took advantage of the less skilled Siewe and flung the Cobras in a 65-38 hole at the end of allowing them to coast comfortably to their second win in the Final Four.

Landry Sanjo was the sole Cobra in double digits with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists. CESAFI MVP Mac Tallo was held to two points on a 1-of-7 shooting clip.
