San Beda College romped to its second straight title in the men’s division, at the end of the 86th NCAA table tennis tournament yesterday at the Arellano U gym.
The Red Lions capped an 11-game sweep of eliminations with a 3-1 thumping of the Blazers and bag their fourth men’s championship overall.
San Beda ace Japeth Adasa nipped Elmer Flores in the first singles, 11-7, 7-11, 5-11, 11-7, 11-9, before Nico Cruz beat Edward Ramos, 10-12, 12-10, 11-9, 11-7, in the second singles.
“Yung hardwork ng mga bata ay nabunga naman,” said San Beda mentor Kurt de Guzman.
The San Beda Red Cubs bagged a ‘three-peat’ in juniors play by nipping the Arellano Baby Chiefs, 3-2.
