Red Lions Cage Tigers, Gain Top Spot In Group A
NCAA undefeated champion San Beda pummeled University of Santo Tomas, 85-72, to clinch a quarterfinals berth in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Preseason Premier League at The Arena in San Juan.
The Red Lions led from start to finish as Garvo Lanete, Ole Adeogun, Melo Lim and Rome dela Rosa joined hands to end their elimination round campaign with a 5-2 slate and assured themselves of a berth in the last eight.
Lanete had 12 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Adeogun also had 12 points and three rebounds and Lim and dela Rosa chipped in 11 and 10 points.
With the loss of Blue Eagles over arch rival La Salle, San Beda now occupies the top spot in Group A.
