San Beda Lady Spikers Grab 1st Win In NCAA Beach Volleyball

In NCAA Beach Volleyball, Bea Uy and Karen Berbano of San Sebastian College waylaid Patricia Aquino and Kay Bacit of Mapua, 21-17, 21-13, while Coline Malana and Janine Marciano of San Beda College topped the Arellano University pair of Mary Jane Diane Ticar and Jeanilyn Lunar, 21-14, 20-22, 15-8.

The Lady Bombers fell to fourth place at 2-1, while the Lady Generals, the Lady Stags, the Red Lioness and the Lady Chiefs have 1-2 records, while the Lady Pirates and the Lady Cardinals remained winless in three starts.

In the men’s division, the Altas, the Knights and the Blazers also lord the standings with identical 3-0 marks.

Perpetual Help turned back Lyceum, 21-16, 21-12, Letran routed Jose Rizal, 21-9, 21-19, and St. Benilde edged EAC, 21-18, 23-21.

Reigning titlist Arellano walloped San Beda, 21-6, 21-8, for its second victory in three outings, while Mapua barged into the win column with a 16-21, 21-12, 15-10 triumph of San Sebastian.

In the juniors play, Letran defeated Jose Rizal, 21-12, 21-5, to snatch the lead with a 2-0 slate, while titleholder Perpetual Help won over San Beda, 21-15, 21-11, for a 1-1 record.
