WNCAA Continues To Soar High On Its 42nd Season
Host Rizal Techonological University is looking at another winning season as it hosts the 42nd season of the Women's National Collegiate Athletic Association (WNCAA) set to fire off on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The RTU Blue Thunder will open its senior basketball campaign against the Centro Escolar University Scorpions at 12:30 p.m. It will be followed by the Poveda-St. Paul College Pasig midget clash at 2 p.m. and the St. Scholastica's College-San Beda College Alabang seniors tiff at 3:30 p.m.
RTU placed third in the previous season behind Lyceum and College of St. Benilde, which both took a leave of absence this season due to failure to field complete volleyball teams. La Consolacion College Manila is the third team on leave.
AKTV (Channel 13) will air the entire opening ceremonies while highlights and results will also be showed on a weekly basis. The cheerleading competition next year will also be aired, according to AKTV Sports' Vito Lazatin.
