San Beda Ends Year With A Win IN NCAA Volleyball
San Beda College Lady Spikers upheld their dominance in the 88th season of NCAA women’s volleyball tournament Thursday noon at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.
The Lady Spikers escape the dangerous Emilio Aguinaldo College Lady Generals, 25-16, 12-25, 25-16, 27-25, to stretch their winning streak to four games and climb up in the third spot holding 4-1 win-loss record.
Tied at 25 in the final set, Mona Diolazo and Kim Dela Vega closed the game with a kill and an ace to prevent the Lady Generals from forcing a decider, 27-25.
Third year Marketing and Corporate Communication student Diolazo and Dela Vega finished with 12 points apiece, while Janine Marciano topped with 24 markers, 20 from kills, three aces and a block.
In the men’s division, the San Beda Red Spikers trounce EAC Generals, 25-14, 25-23, 25-21. Red Spikers maintain its unblemish record of 5-0.
The Lady Spikers handed the Lady Generals their first loss in the season to end the year at the fourth spot tied with San Sebastian College, while the last year’s runner-up Lady Knights are still winless in four outings.
