SBC Representative To Release Official Statement Soon

San Sebastian College athletic moderator Frank Gusi said yesterday that the case of Roger Gorayeb is now being handled by the school’s legal department. Gorayeb claimed that he was ganged up by San Beda coach Frankie Lim and some members of the Red Lions basketball team last Friday after an exchange of cuss words.

Gusi had earlier told media that he will recommend to the NCAA Policy Board that San Beda coach Frankie Lim and the players involved in the incident be banned from the league next season. The Policy Board is headed by UPHSD president Anthony Tamayo. 

San Beda representative Jose Mari Lacson and Letran’s Fr. Vic Calvo both refused to issue a statement when asked about the incident last December 2. 

“We’re still waiting for Doc Cercado (Mancom chairman Dr. Ramon Cercado of Perpeutal) to convene an emergency meeting . After that, we can issue an official statement,” said Lacson. 

Dr. Cercado, however, did not return text messages to his mobile phone as of yesterday.
