Defending champion San Beda (4-1) goes for its fourth straight win as it goes up against Jose Rizal University at 6 p.m.

Things won’t be easy for coach Boyet Fernandez and the Red Lions, who are fresh from a comfortable-but-bruising 78-53 rout of Mapua last Monday where the former accused the Cardinals coaching staff of hurting his players.

Thye Red Lions will play minus center Kyle Pascual, who will serve a one-game suspension for committing two unsportsmanlike fouls in the same game. Even without him, the Red Lions expect a tough encounter with the Heavy Bombers.

Fernandez has high regard for JRU and its coach Vergel Meneses.

“They’re really good. I really respect Vergel (Meneses) I played against him, I coached against him and he’s really good, so it will be another tough game for us,” Fernandez said.

Meneses, whose team is toting a 3-2 record, is banking on the likes of Philip Paniamogan and Michael Mabulac in hopes of hurdling the fancied Lions.

“San Beda? Malakas ba yun?” Meneses said in jest.

“Chachamba lang kami sa kanila, they’re a strong team, they’re number one in college basketball. Ang JRU naman pukpok lang, laban lang. Let’s see what will happen. Nothing to lose, everything to gain for us,” he added.

At 4 seconds into the video, asst coach Ed Cordero stands up; gives hand signals (pointing to the shoulder) to Ighalo. He nods to acknowledge instructions. This is @ 6-10 seconds mark; Play resumes; and @ 17 seconds, BANG! Ighalos' shoulder smacks into the face of Anthony Semerad. A picture is worth a thousand words. This video is worth six; ED, YOU ARE GUILTY AS CHARGED!
