Lady Red Spikers Marciano, Molina Crowned Petron Beach Volleyball Champions

Janine Marciano and Frances Molina came up with smart moves, which carried them to their first-ever Battle of the Champions title in the 2013 Petron Ladies’ Beach Volleyball Tournament at the De La Salle-Health Sciences Institute sand-court here.

The pair from San Beda College found their timing when it mattered most to pull away and eke out a 21-13, 21-12 stopping of De La Salle-Dasmariñas’ Mariel Desengano and Maribeth Lara

“Dumidikit lang kami. Kapag nakakita ng tiyempo para maka-ungos, pull away na kami,” said Molina, a fourth-year marketing student.

Desengano and Lara managed to stay close, 8-10, in the first set off placement shots to the backline.

But a series of errors by the pair allowed Marciano and Molina to move away with four straight points, 14-8.
