San Beda Targets Twice-To-Beat

Defending champion San Beda aims to secure twice-to-beat advantage in the NCAA Season 89 final four when it tangles with Mapua on Monday at The Arena in San Juan.

The Red Lions will face the struggling Cardinals in the opening game at 4 p.m. before the nightcap between San Sebastian and Jose Rizal University at 6 p.m.

Boasting a 13-2 win-loss record to lead all teams, San Beda is just a victory away from locking one of the top two spots in the playoffs. The Red Lions came up with a 72-68 victory against San Sebastian last Monday to remain undefeated in the second round after six games.

Mapua, which has a lowly 1-14 card, is hoping to end a 13-game slump, with its latest setback coming at the hands of Jose Rizal University, 73-56, last Thursday.
