San Beda-Baste Volleyball Showdown Set On Friday

A big treat awaits NCAA women’s volleyball fans as the league’s television coveror Sports5 will feature a Game of the Week beginning tomorrow, December 6.

Unbeaten San Beda College takes on traditional powerhouse San Sebastian College in a showdown of fancied teams which will be aired on TV5.

The match-up between the Lady Red Spikers and the Lady Stags is scheduled at 12:30 p.m.

Currently on a five-game roll, San Beda is enjoying its finest start since the Mendiola-based school started its women’s volleyball program in 2007.

San Sebastian, with coach Roger Gorayeb back at the helm, is currently tied with defending champion Universiry of Perpetual Help System Dalta in fifth place at 3-2.

Fans will now be able to see the showdown they have all been waiting for between the tandem of Marciano and Molina of San Beda against SSC-R's Grethcel Soltones.

The Lady Red Spikers’ 1-2 punch of Ces Molina and Janine Marciano currently leads the league in scoring, while Cebu native Gretchel Soltones of the Lady Stags currently tops in attacks.

Marciano, Molina and Soltones were part of the Shakey's V-League 10 Open Conference a few months back wherein Marciano and Molina with fellow Lady Red Spiker Robey Remigio were part of Team PNP while Soltones is with Team SMART-Maynilad.

Volleyball aficionados have witnessed the great skills and talents these ladies have in volleyball enough to consider them the as a perfect match-up this NCAA Season 89.
