Red Lions Will Go To Cebu For Mayor's Cup

The San Beda Red Lions are coming in full force for the much-anticipated 2014 Cebu City Mayor’s Cup Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament this Friday at the Cebu Coliseum.

The three-day competition organized by the Cebu City Sports Commission will also feature Cesafi 10-time champion University of the Visayas Green Lancers, 2014 Sinulog Cup runner-up University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars and Cesafi 2014 third placer University of San Carlos Warriors.

Since the tournament allows a field of 18 players, the four-time NCAA champion Red Lions is bringing a 17-man team that includes its new Cameroonian import Pierre Donald Tankoua.

Coach Boyet Fernandez is also bringing Isiah Ice Reyes, John Mark Ivan Ludovice, Roldan Sara, Jeramer Cabanag, Drayl Nazareno, Alfred Sedillo, Van Adam Abatayo, Jon Richie Villaruz, Anthony Paul Semerad, Jaypee Mendoza, Michole Solera, Eugene toba, Antonio Bonsubre Jr., Jeric Estrada, Daryl Pascual and Francis Johnson Abarcar.

Tournament director and CCSC commissioner Michael John Sy reminded the local coaches to submit their line-up by noon time today.

CCSC allocated a total of P110,000 as cash prizes with the champions to go home with P50,000.
