Coach Frankie Made His "Farewell Speech", Rome Expresses His Sentiments
"Macrh 27, 2012 will always stick with me no matter where life takes me.
Today had to be the saddest and worst practice I have ever had in my whole entire basketball career.
Everyone attended practice not knowing what to expect and as coach calls us all in for a huddle, we all had puzzled looks on our faces.
As coach utters out his "Farewell Speech" I couldn't help it but tears started to come out, along with my fellow teammates. It is not just about San Beda College, as well as the team. It was something bigger than that.
Coach Frankie Lim was the reason why I'm here, and he helped shape me in a way to become the player that I am now. It is sad for this to happen now with the fact that Fil-Oil is coming up and the NCAA tourney is also just around the corner.
I have so much respect for this man. He was our father, best friend, and someone we can rely on, but most importantly he was our coach. Not only did he lay the foundation, but he gave us hope to pursue our dreams. He puts us in the best position in order to reach our goals in life. All he wanted was what was best for his team. You have taught us to become strong and to have that winning attitude. Also that mentality to keep on pushing.
This is just a little something to express the way I feel. I just want to thank you for believing in me and giving me this type of opportunity. Also thanks to your family and coaching staff for the never ending love and support.
You, Coach Ed, Coach Boni, Coach JB, Coach Mark and Boss Mike only had one goal for the team and that was "Nothing Less Than The Championship." Thank you for everything Coach! I still hope to see you around. You will definitely be missed! It won't be the same but like you said "Good things don't last. Life Goes On!" I'm thankful and blessed to have played for a coach like you.
Always take care and God bless! Don't worry I will keep in touch with you sir. Much love." - Rome Dela Rosa
