Magsanoc Enters The Red Lion's Den
Ronnie Magsanoc will take over the coaching reins from Frankie Lim as San Beda’s senior basketball coach, hoping to keep the school’s winning tradition when Season 88 of the NCAA unfurls in June.
In a tweet coming from some basketball enthusiasts, Magsanoc has finally accepted the role as senior basketball team's new mentor.
RT: "Ronnie Magsanoc finally accepts San Beda Red Lions head coaching job w/Patrick Fran as assistant."
San Beda sources said Magsanoc has gained the nod of San Beda patron and Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas president Manny V. Pangilinan to assume the coaching post after Lim resigned early in the week.
Lim steered the Mendiola-based school to four championships and a runner-up finish.
“Ronnie Magsanoc,” replied three separate sources close to Pangilinan when asked by The STAR on who would be Lim’s successor.
San Beda is expected to make the official announcement today.
“The school will make it official with announcement perhaps tomorrow (today),” said another source.
“Magsanoc is really the first choice of MVP,” added another source, referring to Pangilinan.
San Beda athletic director Ato Badolato said practice has been cancelled for several days now.
