For the first time, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) will hold an out-of-town game when Laguna plays host to two crucial matches on July 25, 2012 (Wednesday) of NCAA Season 88.

NCAA Management Committee (MANCOM) chairman Fr. Vic Calvo said yesterday that the league has agreed to play a pair of games at the San Luis Sports Complex in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, a first for the oldest collegiate league in the country.

The NCAA MANCOM will sign the agreement today with Laguna Governor ER Ejercito at The Arena in San Juan.

“This move by the NCAA to hold games in the province will truly make the NCAA a national league,” Calvo said. “This is really our goal. We’d like to reach out to those who want to watch live the NCAA, to our supporters.”

The pair of games will feature season host Letran and Emilio Aguinaldo College clashing at 1 p.m., while Arellano University and College of St. Benilde will collide at 3 p.m.

Calvo said that other provinces and municipalities have already signified intentions to host the NCAA, and talks are already in progress. Some of the provinces he mentioned are Zamboangga City, Davao City and Subic.
