San Beda Seek REDemption, Battles CSB
Title-favorite San Beda College tries to bounce back from Thursday’s loss when it takes on College of St. Benilde today in the 88th NCAA basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The Red Lions were handed their first defeat by University of Perpetual Help as the Altas took a share of the lead with their 88-87 overtime win against a team fancied to easily reach the Final Four.
The Altas’ shocking win over San Beda, their first against the Red Lions since 2005, propelled them to the top of the 10-team standings with San Sebastian College and Jose Rizal University, all with 3-1 slates.
San Beda, however, is hoping to put behind the loss when they play Benilde at 4 p.m.
The Red Lions will still be without center Ola Adeogun who will be serving his fourth and last game suspension after he figured in a brawl last year involving SBC basketball players and volleyball players and coaches from San Sebastian.
But the Lions have Kyle Pascual, Baser Amer, Arthur Dela Cruz and Anjo Caram to rely on.
