San Beda Eye Semis Playoff, Battles EAC

Frontrunner San Beda gun for at least a playoff berth in the Final Four when they shoot for their 12th win against their opponent on Saturday in the 88th NCAA basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The Red Lions, the reigning champions, collide with the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals at 4 p.m.

JRU’s defeat has revived the chances of EAC to secure at least a playoff for a semis berth. The Generals are carrying a 5-8 mark.

If San Beda prevails and end up #1 or #2 at the close of the double-round elims, the team will secure a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.

Though the Mendiola-based squad ripped EAC, 81-65, in the first round, the Red Lions can’t take Generals for granted since the latter are coming off a 73-71 upset win over the University of Perpetual Help Altas last week.

The win improved EAC’s record to 5-8.
