Red Cubs Unbeaten In NCAA
San Beda Red Cubs overpowered its opponent to remain on top of the standings in the 89th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) juniors basketball tournament.
The Red Cubs ripped the Arellano University Braves on its last game, 108-51. San Beda holds a 3-0 win-loss record.
The Red Cubs zoomed to a 32-13 lead after the first quarter behind the hot-shooting hands of big man Arvin Tolentino. San Beda was never threatened after that and even held Arellano University to a season-low three points in the third quarter.
Tolentino led the Red Cubs with 25 points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals while Adven Diputado backed him up with 18 markers, three boards, four assists and three steals.
Niko Abatayo and Norrish Decapia came off the bench and combined for 20 points and 15 rebounds also for San Beda. Renzil Rivera was the lone Arellano University player to finish in double figures with 16 points and seven rebounds.
