Red Lions Learned Their Lesson After First Loss
Three-time defending NCAA men’s basketball champion San Beda did learn its lesson the hard way.
Following their stunning 66-70 loss to Lyceum Pirates last week, the Red Lions were made to realize that they can be beaten by any team in the league anytime of the day.
Their first loss of Season 89 naturally stings for the Lions.
“It was painful because they caught us off guard,” said team captain Rome dela Rosa. “But they (Pirates) just outworked us in the last game.”
Yet, the champions insist the loss was just a bump in the road especially with the season still at its early stage.
“The positive thing is at least we learned from that loss,” dela Rosa added.
San Beda bounced back from the setback with a 67-54 beating of Arellano University to hike its record to 2-1 overall.
“We learned not to take any teams lightly by having the right mindset,” added dela Rosa.
“And not to be overconfident as well.”
