Alabang Lady Spikers Had Its First Defeat This WNCAA Season
Centro Escolar University dealt fellow semifinalist Emilio Aguinaldo College its first loss, 77-52, to keep its unbeaten streak in the 42nd WNCAA senior basketball tournament at the St. Scholastica gym over the weekend.

Miriam College then notched its third straight victory with a 62-56 decision over University of Asia and the Pacific, levelling its record to 3-3, just half a game behind its victim's 3-2 card.
In other matches on Sept. 11, Sunday, Philippine Women's University whipped San Beda College Alabang, 61-43, and host Rizal Technological University dumped St. Scholastica's College, 56-36.
RTU also improved to 6-0 in senior volleyball with a 25-13, 25-13, 25-20, over San Beda which dropped to second spot at 5-1 in tie with Miriam. Miriam beat PWU, 25-19, 24-26, 25-21, 15-25, 18-16.
Also posting a 6-0 mark is defending midgets volleyball champion De La Salle Zobel, a 25-8, 22-25, 25-16 winner over San Beda.
In junior basketball on Sept. 10, Saturday, Miriam trounced Angelicum College, 79-16, to tie idle La Salle College Antipolo on top at 3-0. St. Jude Catholic School dominated St. Paul College Pasig, 64-47, to hand the latter its first defeat in three starts.
DLSZ likewise recorded a 66-32 thumping of San Beda, and St. Stephen's High School downed Poveda, 48-42.
In futsal matches at the EAC gym, PWU capped its five-game sweep of the senior division with a 2-1 nipping of defending champion RTU. It also gained the twice-to-beat edge against UA&P in the semifinals on Sunday. RTU and EAC clash in the other Final Four duel of the league being supported by Mikasa, Molten, Goody, MJC Press and AGR Xperts Corporation,
Defending junior champion DLSZ likewise won all its elimination round assignments, with San Beda as its last victim, 3-1. The semifinals will pit DLSZ against St. Paul College Pasig, which blanked LSCA, 2-0; and Miriam, a 4-0 winner over Angelicum, versus San Beda.
