San Beda Dominates NCAA Swimming

San Beda College scored an NCAA swimming double as the Sea Lions bagged the men’s division championship for the 11th straight time, and then added the women’s title at the end of competition recently at the Rizal Memorial Swimming Pool.

San Beda collected 1,246.50 points to defeat College of Saint Benilde (790.50) and Emilio Aguinaldo College (296) in the men’s category, while the Mendiola-based lady tankers amassed 966 points to beat the Lady Blazers (706).

CSB-La Salle Green Hills (LSGH), meanwhile, dominated the juniors swimming for the ninth straight season as the Greenies collected 923 points as they dominated the Red Cubs (712) and San Sebastian (344.25).

San Beda’s Wilfredo Sunglao Jr. and Lorilie Lora were named Most Valuable Player in the men’s and women’s division, respectively.

Long-time Sea Lions mentor Dondon Roxas took the Coach of the Year honors. LSGH’s Rafael Sta. Maria copped the MVP plum in the junior’s while Evan Grabador was named the Coach of the Year.
